Tips to Prep for your Photoshoot

Below is a quick checklist to guide you through the preparation process for a photo shoot. A little prep goes a long way in making sure everything goes smoothly and you feel confident in front of the camera.

1. Wardrobe

• Choose Outfits You Feel Comfortable In: Wear clothes that fit well and make you feel confident. Avoid busy patterns, logos, or too much black/white unless that’s part of your look.

• Bring Options: It’s always good to have 2-3 outfits ready. For variety, bring casual and formal options if the shoot allows for it.

• Coordinate Colors: If you’re shooting with others, coordinate color schemes but avoid being too matchy. Soft tones and neutral colors generally photograph well.

2. Hair & Makeup

• Keep It Natural (Unless Otherwise Planned): Aim for your best natural look. Avoid heavy makeup unless we’re doing a styled shoot. A little extra powder helps control shine.

• Hair Preparation: If you’re styling your hair, plan ahead for it to look fresh. Bring a brush or any products you might need for touch-ups.

• Grooming (for Men): If you need a haircut or shave, do it a couple of days in advance to avoid a freshly-cut look.

3. Rest & Hydrate

• Get Plenty of Rest: Try to get a good night’s sleep before the shoot. Being well-rested will help you look your best.

• Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. It helps your skin look healthy and fresh.

4. Props & Personal Items

• Bring Meaningful Items: If you’d like to include personal items or props (such as musical instruments, books, or sports gear), feel free to bring them along!

• Accessories: Feel free to bring a few jewelry options, scarves, or hats to change up your look.

5. Relax & Enjoy
